About

So this is where I go through the whole cliché thing of asking if this is where I should be talking about myself, right? Glad we got that out of the way. But if you clicked here, you’re looking for some kind of information, so let’s see… Gah, there’s just so much.

The Basics
First of all, my name is CLR. I was born in Texas, but don’t remember anything about it except it was hot. I spent most of my life living just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, and as a result know more about James K. Polk’s birthplace than any person should. When it was time to go to college, I decided to come to the wondrous and mysterious land of New Jersey, where I still live eight years later (and I’m not exactly thrilled about it). So, that's fun.

But who am I, really?
I’m a twenty-something writer, reader, blogger, Tweeter, musicophile, devourer of 80s and 90s pop culture, and storehouse of useless information. I spend a lot of time thinking about TV shows, books, movies and music, and sometimes even blog about them. I like to write offensive haikus, and little brings me more joy than challenging people to The Princess Bride quote-offs. I’m a big fan of saying “The book was better,” (The Shining, The Hunger Games) but I willingly admit when it’s not (Fight Club, The Princess Bride). I love learning the names of supporting actors, and when you say, “Hey, you know that guy who was in that movie with the other guy and they did that thing?” I usually know who you're talking about.

I love when movies, books and lyrics make me cry because it means that they’ve hit on some universal experience, and that’s really the point of art, isn’t it?

I have a hard time remembering that 2000-2009 actually happened.

For better or for worse, I have a lot of thoughts.
